Craft in Vienna
The Vienna Secession boasts a long list of master craftsmen whose work is an essential component of graphic design history today. This academic lecture poster explores geometric form as a means of conveying that sense of design mastery. While earlier versions of the poster approached image and type as separate elements within a vertical composition, I found much more compelling visual solutions by exploring type as image with geometric constraints (i.e. each letterform is made entirely out of trapezoids).
